December 9, 2024

Explore how AI image generation can create brand-specific visuals by simply specifying market segments, without the need for complex prompting techniques. Using Recraft's image generation platform, discover how a basic prompt template can produce varied business scenarios tailored to different industries.

AI Outtakes, Vol. 68

Is market segment all you need?

That sentence is a riff on the foundational research paper that spawned the concept of large language models and the modern artificial intelligence movement, Attention Is All You Need.

AI prompting is an entire industry, with published strategies, tips and tricks (apparently being nice to the AI helps!). And the subset of AI image prompting is even more arcane, with both positive and negative prompts (why you should have to specify "no deformed faces please" makes no sense), control characters, and other esoteric structures. It prevents the technology from being used effectively by people who don't have the time to learn this strange new language.

In last week's edition we looked at Recraft v3, which does a great job generating realistic images without complex prompts. In this week's edition we're looking at just how simple we can get with prompts. Can we generate images that match a company's brand just by specifying their market segment?

Using the base prompt a photo of happy business leaders in a meeting, with a [market segment] theme, let's see how much variation we can get just from the market segment.

It's pretty amazing what just one clause changed can do to the output of Recraft images. While some of these were a mixed bag, and Recraft has an annoying habit of adding words to posts even when they aren't needed or asked for, but marketing teams now have a pretty useful way to build up a library of brand images inexpensively and with a variety of scenarios, without needing to be prompt engineers.
