AI Outtakes, Vol. 3

At Orchestra AI, we recognize the importance of imagery in content marketing and often use generative AI to create unique and interesting images that capture the essence of the content. However, sometimes the process goes wrong in unexpected ways, resulting in AI outtakes.

I have to be honest, when I published the first one of these I wasn't actually sure how long I'd be able to keep doing them. Still not, to be honest. But one of our values at Orchestra AI is the quote from Jerry Greenfield, on of the founders of Ben & Jerry's: "If it's not fun, why do it?"
At Orchestra, when we work on content marketing for clients we recognize the importance of imagery to support the material. The hero image us your best chance to get people to read the article, and finding unique and interesting images to support the article's content is actually part of our workflow. Very often that process involves finding a visual metaphor to capture the essence of the content, and then using generative AI to create a stock photo or illustration of that metaphor. Sometimes that works perfectly, like this image of a canary in a server room. But a lot of times it goes wrong in unexpected ways, and as long as that remains true, there will be AI Outtakes.
Now on to the images!

Here's a great example of expecting AI to give you a great example for a metaphor, only to repeatedly drop the ball (or in this case, the comet).

Okay maybe that prompt was a little too complex. I didn't actually want the comet to be a robot, I've just used robot in the past to represent AI. I actually wanted to represent Google's AI, so maybe generative AI knows logos?

OK I can photoshop a Google logo in. Can it just do dinosaurs looking at an oncoming comet? HAS GENERATIVE AI EVER SEEN AN 8TH GRADE SCIENCE TEXTBOOK?

Okay, I'll photoshop in the comet, too. Just give me dinosaurs looking up.

That's a wrap for this week!
