Moon landings are making headlines, with Japan's SLIM lander successfully touching down on the surface, becoming the fifth country to achieve this feat. Space exploration is back in the spotlight, sparking discussions on unusual activities astronauts could engage in while on the moon.

AI Outtakes, Vol. 22

There's a lot of activity in moon landings these days! While the NASA/Astrobotic Peregrine Moon Lander wasn't successful, Japan's SLIM lander recently touched down on the surface, making them the fifth country to successfully land an object on the moon.

Space exploration is back as a topic, and naturally AI has some hot takes on it. In this edition we're looking at weird people and creatures to be astronauts on the moon, and weird things they could do while they're up there.

On to the images!

Let's keep with the 60s theme here!

Probably the first time anyone's ever said "eh - let's just go straight to Pikachu" but...

Generating astronauts as specific characters works decently, I suppose, but what about different eras? Can we get astronauts from the 80s?

THE LEG WARMERS

That went pretty well! Let's try some different decades and see how it does.

Okay let's go back even a little farther.

So far we've done humans (and one Pokémon) landing on the moon, but what if other creatures got there first?

What about tardigrades? Their bodies are well-designed for space suits.

What about giraffes? I wonder what a moon lander would look like if it needed to house giraffes.

Where is the giraffe's other leg?!

Okay, we sort of tapped out at giraffe. Still, a good run. We've had fun imagining other creatures as astronauts, but what about imagining astronauts doing unusual activities on the moon? We know they played golf, but what about other sports?

Okay let's try something that doesn't require level ground (but also wouldn't work without atmosphere).

Ok that was a dud. Let's see if we can end on a high note.

We had fun playing around with the moon theme. Until next week!

Hmm this should have been easier? Let's try again.

Can't believe 'waving' was this hard. Let's see if it can do something more specific - the YMCA dance.
